Sitting atop Yaki Point for many hours starting at the Grand Canyon one day I “got” the canyon and understood that we do the same thing with our tools. G-d uses wind and rain over time to erode, to form – we use abrasives of all sizes and shapes. Inspired by the extreme beauty of the canyon and confident “I could do this too!” I went home and carved this magnificent piece which dissembles into four hidden compartments.

The Alabaster it is carved from is a spectacular and singular piece that ranged in color from purples and reds to greys, blacks and oranges – the colors of the canyon. We’ve never found a piece like it since! This was another that I wished I hadn’t sold!
